Solar Technicians in Demand Graduates from the renewable energy program at San Juan College in Farmington are in high demand within New Mexico and in other states as the solar energy business expands rapidly. Starting pay for graduates is $12-$15/hour and rises to over $20/hour within two years.

The SJC one year certificate program for those with a BA or other associate degree fills up rapidly. Other NM colleges offering solar technology programs are Crownpoint Institute of Technology and Southwestern Polytechnic Institute for Native American students, Albuquerque TVI, and Santa Fe Community College (Albuquerque Journal 5-22-06)
